Description
Mr. Mick’s philosophy was to make affordable wines for everyone to enjoy and our Rosé, one of the most popular wines in the range, honours his legacy.
The vintage 2024 continues to exemplify our chosen style of a rosé lighter in colour, yet characterful and expressive with lifted aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and pink lady apple with a hint of white peach and crunchy rhubarb. The delicate fruit lingers on the palate before a cleansing, long finish held together with crisp Clare Valley acidity borne from a cool and steady ripening season. It’s a wine that leaves you wanting another glass.
Winemaking Notes
Unlike many other roses, the fruit for this wine was grown at our Rogers vineyard with only the purpose of making Rosé. Grenache and Sangiovese were harvested at the perfect maturity for rosé winemaking, crushed, chilled and pressed short after to minimise colour extraction while retaining the vibrant red berry flavours. The juices were cold settled and fermented separately at low temperatures for maximum fruit expression prior to careful blending, stabilisation, clarification and bottling. This dry wine has just a touch of some residual sugar to support the natural fruit characters and balance the acidity.
Food Pairing
This wine can be enjoyed on its own or it makes a great accompaniment to Asian cuisine and dishes with a little spice.
