Our ‘easy-going’ Vermentino creates interest amongst the crowd and satisfies many tastes. Being a popular Italian variety, it’s origin on the island of Sardinia, Vermentino also suits a broad array of cuisine, perfect for our Australian food culture.
The wine has lifted grapefruit, apple and pear aromas and flavours, modelled in the classic Italian style with just a touch of fruit sweetness to balance the refreshing crushed rock minerality and spritely natural acidity.
Harvested in the cool of the early morning, after a short skin contact time to maximise flavour from the skins, the juice was separated, cold settled and fermented gently for two weeks. The result is a rich, textural yet seamless palate with vibrant natural acidity. Following ferment, the wine spent extra time on yeast lees, generating more mid-palate texture and weight.
It is a great wine just to sit, sip and enjoy for its individuality, or try with a varied range of food, particularly good with seafood!
