Release Date February 2018
Tim, his wife Pam and the team at Tim Adams Wines, are proud to be releasing two new wines; 2017 Tim Adams ‘Skilly Ridge’ Riesling (RRP $29) and 2013 Tim Adams ‘Schaefer’ Shiraz (RRP $35). Both wines have been made from premium fruit sourced from vineyard sites named after prominent community vignerons and their families.
“These wines evoke strong emotions, as they pay tribute to two extraordinary men and their families, who like me followed their dreams and established remarkable vineyards, whilst contributing to the local community”, Tim said.
“Skilly Ridge is a vineyard very close to our hearts. Pam and I purchased the property in 2014 from the Ingham family and now call it home. Previously known as ‘Ingham’s Skilly Ridge’, the vineyard was planted by Clark Ingham in 1994. Clark and his family moved from the city to Clare to follow his dream of establishing a vineyard that produced premium wines. The Ingham family quickly established themselves in Clare, participating in many community events and sitting on different local committees.
Pam and I together with the Tim Adams Wines team, maintain the vineyard to the very high standard set by the Ingham family and we are so proud to be launching such a special wine from such a special place”, Tim said.
He continues, “After many years of broadacre farming on Eyre Peninsula, Roy Schaefer and his family moved to Clare and planted a vineyard in 1998. Roy was passionate about growing things and meticulously managed the vineyard to the point that he almost had a name for each vine! We started to purchase grapes from the Schaefer vineyard in 2011 and in 2013 kept some Shiraz separate as we were delighted with the quality. In 2015 we were fortunate enough to purchase the vineyard and in 2018 we are equally excited about launching the Schaefer Shiraz, not only because it is an exceptional wine, but because it pays tribute to another much loved local and his family who was passionate about Clare and his precious vineyard”.
The 2017 Skilly Ridge Riesling (RRP $29) and the 2013 Schaefer Shiraz (RRP $35) will be available from the cellar door and restaurants from mid to late February 2018.
