RIGHT IN THE GROOVE: Tim Adams 2005 The Aberfeldy Shiraz Campbell Mattinson, www.winefront.com.au, February 2008, January 2011 Right in the groove. A real 'velvet glove' of a wine, thick with soft, plummy, clovey flavour, its creamy oak woven thoughout. There's even the odd tip of coffee and five-spice here, adding interest to what is essentially a big, broad, beautiful display of shiraz flavour. Drink it young or mature; it will seduce either way. Drink: 2008-2018. 94 points. Download Snippet |

MOST CONSISTENT TOP-END WINE: Tim Adams 2006 The Aberfedy Shiraz Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book, June 2009 Aberfeldy would lay claim to being Australia's most consistent topend wine ... This is full-bodied and ultra-smooth, with all the stuffing and smooth-skinned tannin to ensure that it will keep in the cellar for as long as you desire. That said, we love drinking it now — though we do feel a little naughty doing it. Download Snippet |

ALL THINGS NICE: Tim Adams 2006 The Aberfeldy Shiraz Peter Hay, Australian Doctor, December 2008 This is the sort of red that deserves to be put away for a few years to maximise its potential but, as with mosr shiraz, can be drunk young ... deeply complex red with lashings of blackberries, cloves, cinnamon and spice and all things nice! ARTFULLY MADE: Tim Adams 2006 The Aberfeldy Shiraz Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2009, October 2008 A fine, long, elegant and dusty shiraz whose vibrant presence of dark berries, plums and fresh dark chocolate/vanilla/cedar oak is backed by spicy, lightly peppery and meaty undertones. It's long, smooth, fine-grained and elegant, with a silky backbone of pliant tannins and lingering suggestions of licorice and caramel. Artfully made ... 93 points |

VIBRANT & LONG: Tim Adams 2006 The Aberfeldy Shiraz Lester Jesberg & panel, Winewise, October 2008, October 2008 The dark berry aromas and flavours of this classy shiraz carry a hint of regional mint and noticeable oak at this early stage. However the fruit is vibrant and long and the skin tannins are fine. Give it at least a few years to allow the components to knit together. Download Snippet |

RESTRAINED POWER: Tim Adams 2005 The Aberfeldy Shiraz Paul Ippolito, The 5-Minute Wine Rush (www.paulippolito.com.au), August 2008 Aromatic with a deep intense robustness, yet imparted with a certain elegance and finesse. A great deal of restrained power here unleashing slowly. Liquorice, violets, tar, prunes, spicy plums, blueberries and blackcurrants as well as some red earth. Good alcohol, sweet coconut oak and ultra fine tannins with a good length of finish. This is still a youthful Shiraz with plenty of potential. Try it with aged rump. Drink to 2020. 95/100 – Superb. |
