Tim Adams The Fergus takes out best-value-red award at 2007 International Wine Challenge

It was a mighty proud night for Tim Adams and Pam Goldsack on September 12 when they attended the International Wine Challenge dinner in London's Grosvenor Hotel to be presented with two trophies for their 2004 The Fergus.

Tim and Pam are pictured above receiving the Trophy for Best Clare Valley Red from Derek Smedley, one of the competition's Chairmen of Judges. In the other picture, Tim receives the Best Value Red Wine Award* from two other Chairmen of Judges, Charles Metcalfe (left) and Tim Aitkin.

The 2007 International Wine Challenge attracted 9358 entries and is the world’s largest wine competition.

“It’s an achievement I’m very proud of,” said Tim Adams. “There were only 260 gold medals — that’s less than 3 per cent of entries — awarded by a judging line-up that included more than 40 MWs. Even making that standard is quite something.”

*The award was open to all red wines available in the UK and priced between 5 and 10 pounds sterling.

Tim Adams Wines was established in South Australia's beautiful Clare Valley in 1987 by Tim and his wife, Pam Goldsack.

The winery is located in the heart of the valley, in Warenda Road, not far from the Main North Road, about midway between the towns of Clare and Sevenhill.

You are welcome to visit the cellar door between 10.30am and 5pm weekdays and between 11am and 5pm on weekends and public holidays.
